On July 22, 2008, Allena was working on her ranch in Caliente, California, when a black bear attacked her. The attack left Allena with severe injuries to her jaw, lips, earlobes, cheeks and forehead. Facial and reconstructive surgeon at UCLA, Dr. Kimberly Lee treated Allena after the attack and explains the extensive work that went into rebuilding Allena's face.
