17-year-old Bea De LaValette was one of many injured in the Brussels terrorist attack on her spring break. The bomb exploded just 12 feet away from her and she was quickly rushed to the hospital for a 7-hour life-saving surgery. She lost her spleen and both her legs and she was in the ICU for 4 months. She credits her relationship with her horse for giving her the will to live.
