Use of the stimulant cocaine is reportedly up 47% since 2011, and it’s now being laced with the often-deadly synthetic opiate fentanyl. The powerful manmade opioid fentanyl is most commonly prescribed for extreme pain in the hospital, but can also be found in heroin, and the big fear now is that it’s being found in cocaine as well. Cocaine deaths were higher than deaths from meth last year alone.
