A recent study found that obese children are more likely to have less sensitive taste buds than children within the normal weight range. Their lessened ability to distinguish between tastes could be a psychological reason why they consume more food than an average child. The Doctors wonder which happens first, noting that as you eat more sweet and fattening foods, you become desensitized to the taste of sugar.
