Misty was born with a severe case of Spina Bifida, sharing, “It was so bad I had some of my organs on the outside of my body.” The first 12 years of her life she underwent surgery after surgery. At age 25 she had her 28th operation and she was in extreme pain and became addicted to morphine. She became homeless and felt like she was hitting rock bottom. She shares that she started running races and it’s completely changed her entire life.
