Former gymnast Jamie Dantzscher describes competing at an elite level as abusive physically, mentally and emotionally. What was once her dream to compete in the Olympics quickly became a nightmare. Her coaches controlled what she ate, she was told how to stand, how to wear her hair, and entirely stripped her of her personality. Jamie also shares that she had to eat less than 1,000 calories a day, and at the time she didn’t understand the severity of the abuse.
