A new study from the Journal of Consumer Psychology, inspired by the Pixar movie “Inside Out,” found that imagining sadness as a person helps the emotion feel a little less intense. If you externalize the emotion and imagine it as a person, all of a sudden you feel like you can deal with it. Could doing this help you process your sadness?
