A recent study out of Mass General found that crucial moments in a child’s history are recorded in their teeth. These microscopic markings can reveal trauma and signs of stress. Scientists there have been looking at women who were pregnant or had young children during the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing to see if the stress lines are in the teeth. Reconstructive and cosmetic dentist Dr. Joe Willardsen weighs in, sharing this is the first-time mental stress has been studied on teeth.
