A proposed law in Virginia that would grant freedom to inmates aged 60 and above includes Class 2 felons, which are people who are in jail for rape and people who intended to commit murder. Neuroscientist Dr. Don Vaughn shares that what we need is the opposite of this law – we need individualized sentencing and he’s in favor of psychological parole with the idea that when someone is released they need to check in with a trained mental health professional on a regular basis.
