Playing Healthy Grilled Snacks for Your Next Tailgate

Grilled Edamame 


  • 1 Package of frozen edamame
  • 1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp of toasted sesame oil
  • Salt
  • Nanami togarashi seasoning


  1. Defrost the edamame and spread them out on aluminum foil
  2. Drizzle the olive oil and the sesame oil over the edamame and sprinkle some salt
  3. Toss the edamame to make sure it is evenly coated
  4. Turn the grill to a medium high heat and move the foil to the grill rack
  5. Grill each side for about 5 minutes and add nanmi togarashi seasoning to your preference

Grilled Peach Caprese 


  • 2 medium peaches
  • 2 oz fresh mozzarella
  • 4-6 basil leaves
  • 4-6 tbsp of balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp of honey
  • Olive oil


  1. Preheat grill so it’s at a medium heat
  2. Wash and cut peaches so they form rings and remove the pit
  3. Cut mozzarella into similar size circles as the peach rings
  4. Lightly drizzle olive oil over the grill and place the peach rings on the grill
  5. Let the peaches cook until lines form on the bottom then flip and repeat on the other side (should take less than 5 minutes per a side)
  6. Mix together the balsamic vinegar and honey into a sauce pan and cook until it thickens into a sauce (about 5 minutes)
  7. Arrange the grilled peaches with mozzarella circles and drizzle the sauce and basil leaves over

Grilled Cauliflower Steak


  • 2 large heads of cauliflower
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • 2 lemons (zested and juiced)
  • 2 cloves of finely minced garlic
  • 1 tsp of honey
  • 2 tsp of kosher salt


  1. Prep the cauliflower by removing the outer leaves from the head and cutting off the bottom stem end
  2. Cut the cauliflower in half or into thirds depending on how thick you want your “steaks” to be
  3. In a small bowl mix together the olive oil, the lemon zest, the lemon juice, the garlic, and the honey
  4. Turn grill to a medium heat (around 350 degrees)
  5. Brush one side of cauliflower steak with the lemon-olive oil garlic mixture and sprinkle the same side with 1 tsp of kosher salt
  6. Place the side with the mixture and salt on the grill and add the remaining mixture and salt to the other side (the one facing up not facing the grill)
  7. Cover the grill and let the cauliflower cook for 5-6 minutes
  8. Flip the cauliflower and repeat on the other side
