The Doctors weigh in on the recent headlines of rapper T.I. accompanying his teen daughter during a gynecologist visit to confirm her hymen was still intact and the new push by lawmakers to outlaw this practice.

The Doctors are "stunned" by this story and OB/GYN Dr. Nita Landry adds, "It doesn't make any sense at all.... here's the thing, [the hymen] can tear with everyday activity, like gymnastics or riding a bicycle, or riding a horse!"

Dr. Nita also notes that some babies are not even born with a hymen.

She stresses checking for a hymen is horribly invasive and makes no medical sense, explaining the United Nations and The World Health Organization would like to see the practice banned.
