Summer travel can be very expensive, especially if you have a large family. To help save money, The Doctors welcome The Krazy Coupon Lady Joanie Demer to share three of her favorite apps that could help make your vacation cost less.
Roomer: Joanie explains that this app can help you save money in 2 ways. First, you can sell non-refundable hotel rooms you might not be able to use. She says you can also shop for hotel rooms, usually at a deep discount. She explains that once you buy a room, the reservation is switched into your name, as though you had purchased it yourself. Joanie says you can save up to 70 percent on major hotels.
Raise: She says this app can help you save on airfare, as it features discounted gift cards and it sells gift cards for major airlines. The cards cost 6 to 8 percent less than their retail value and Joanie says with multiple people traveling the savings can add up quickly. She also suggests using the app to buy gift cards for hotels and chain restaurants as well.
GasBuddy: If you are hitting the highway this summer, she suggests downloading the GasBuddy app, which uses crowdsourced data to find the best gas prices in your area. She also says the app can help you plan out which cities will have the best gas prices on your drive. The app also has a loyalty program which will help you save 5 cents per gallon.
