Are you self-sabotaging your life? Psychologist Dr. Judy Ho says it can happen to anyone and has tips on how you can achicve your goals and identify what might be holding you back!
Dr. Judy, the author of “Stop Self-Sabotage,” explains that when we prioritize avoiding threats in our lives, this can stop us from going after what we most want. She says the 4 factors that lead to self-sabotage are:
Low self-concept: Meaning you might be dealing with self-esteem issues, which can get in the way of a goal
Internalized beliefs: These are beliefs we develop as a child which then carry into adult life and influence our choices
Fear of change/unknown: She explains this a common hindrance that limits goal achievement for many people
Excessive need for control: Dr. Judy says this can hold people back from "experimenting" with things we don't have complete control over
