The Doctors are joined by singer-songwriter Colton Dixon and his wife Annie to share how the birth of their twins turned from joy and excitement to fear and dread when one of their daughters was born without a pulse.

After 30 hours of labor and C-section, the couple's twins, Ava Dior and Athens Elizabeth, were delivered 30 seconds apart, but that is when things took a turn for the worse in the delivery room. One of their twins, Ava Dior, did not have a pulse and the new parents could only watch as nurses resuscitated their newborn.
Annie says their daughter had suffered some trauma to her head, was swollen, and had to be put on oxygen. She was rushed to NICU, something mom Annie says was "heart-wrenching."
Thankfully, Colton and Annie's baby recovered and after spending a week in the hospital, they were able to bring their newborn home. The couple joins the show and is happy to share their daughter is doing well and "living her best life right now."
Colton explains the reason Ava Dior did not have a pulse was likely due to being in the birth canal for so long. Colton says having his daughter spend a week in the NICU was "sobering" and "heavy" and they are so thankful she was able to recover.
