Is working out commando a good idea? At the end of the day, OB/GYN expert Dr. Nita Landry says it's "to-may-to, to-mah-to" but there are some health tips to follow both with and without underwear.
If you wear underwear, avoid fabrics that hold onto warmth and moisture, which is a breeding ground for yeast and bacteria. Chose a breathable fabric like cotton, as opposed to satin, polyester or lace.
If you go commando, make sure the workout pants or shorts you wear have a wicking panel sewn into them to absorb moisture. After a workout, change out of your sweaty clothing as soon as possible and shower.
