Plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon welcomes fellow plastic surgeon Dr. Deepak Dugar and Doctors' staffer Karyn to test out the Lift Edge Filler, which uses a series of injections around the corner of the mouth.
Dr. Dugar explains he likes to use hyaluronic acid fillers to lift up the plumping edges of the lips. He says the muscles around the edge of the lip can cause the tightness in the smile and the injections can help soften this area without too much volume enhancement. He explains the goal of this procedure is a little rotation of the muscles to help with drooping.
Dr. Dugar stresses that people getting this injection should only use hyaluronic acid fillers (and not silicone). He says this treatment ranges from $400 to $1000 on average and will last anywhere from 6 to 12 months.
