The former reality star Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson rose to fame at just 6 years old on TLCs popular show "Toddlers & Tiaras," followed by her own show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" is turning 16 on August 28th.
The Doctors had the pleasure of having Alana on the show in 2018 for a life-changing health intervention that focused on helping her and her mother Mama June jumpstart clean eating at home. Mama June, who has struggled with her own weight loss which was documented on the show, "Mama June: From Not to Hot," came on The Doctors and got an eye-opening look at what an unhealthy lifestyle can do to your health.
ER Physician Dr. Travis Stork shared with June, "When you wake up in the morning and you think about how can I make today the healthiest day in my daughter's life."
For her 16th birthday, Alana sat down with Teen Vogue to share that she would like the world to start using her real name. Now in public high school, Alana dreams of being a neonatal nurse and she's saving up for her first car. Alana also shares how her mother's drug abuse has affected her and candidly opens up about her struggles to make real friends in high school for fears that people just want to be friends with "Honey Boo Boo." Plus, Alana seems very happy with how she looks and says that she makes being comfortable with herself a priority, sharing "As long as I like myself, I'm good."
The Doctors wish Alana a very happy birthday and continued success, joy and good health.
