In addition to dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and hosting her popular show remotely this year, Rachael also lost her home in a fire this year. She explains to Dr. Ian Smith a chimney fire lead to the destruction of her home. Despite the loss of her home and having to let her viewers into her private inner sanctum, Rachael explains her fears of how the pandemic changed her show, which was quickly alleviated after taping her first remote show from her guest house.
"There's something really cool about being raw with people and let it be whatever it is," she shares, explaining her husband John works as her cameraman, lighting director, on-camera mixologist, and occasional co-host.
After being stuck at home for so many months, it is natural to feel less-than-inspired while in the kitchen, but Rachael shares her tips on how to feel exhausted by the thought of cooking for yourself or your family.
Rachael's top tip to stay inspired is to clean out your pantry, freezer, and refrigerator. She explains this will allow you to build your pantry and food supply around the type of food or type of eating style you like most. She says this approach will also help people who are looking to learn new ways or styles to cook or are trying to eat food on a specific diet or meal plan.
"The kitchen becomes more fun when you're cooking food you actually want to eat," she says.
