The Doctors welcome Todd, who has suffered from nasal congestion issues for most of his life. He has tried products like nasal strips, nasal decongestants, and even sprays, but has found no relief. He tells us he is an endurance runner and is looking for a solution to help him achieve peak performance.
Otolaryngologist Dr. Brian Weeks is here to perform a new minimally invasive nasal valve procedure to address Todd's issues. Dr. Weeks explains the procedure will open Todd's nasal valve, which is something millions of Americans also struggle with. Dr. Weeks says this procedure can give patients immediate relief, and also improve even more over the course of a year.
Dr. Weeks places the implant inside Todd's nose (live in The Doctors' procedure room). The implant will begin to dissolve in the body in around 9 to 12 months and completely dissolve in around 18 to 24 months. Once dissolved, the body will fill in the area will collagen and stabilize the area.
As for any pain or discomfort, Todd said the placing fo the implant, which only took a minute, was "a piece of cake." Todd notes he can feel a difference immediately.
