Photos of Massy Arias’ amazing abs while six-months pregnant went viral and now, Massy still has unbelievable abs as well as a healthy, happy 17-month-old. Massy joins The Doctors along with her husband, Stefan, and daughter, Indi, to share some unique workout moves they do as a family.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon points out that Massy did it right; she was in great shape prior to her pregnancy and then maintained her routine throughout it. OB/GYN Dr. Nita Landry notes that while in some situations, working out while pregnant is not okay, for the vast majority, doctors want pregnant women to get some exercise as well as eat right. She adds that women who are normal weight before pregnancy should only gain about 25 to 35 pounds during their pregnancies.

ER physician Dr. Travis Stork commends Massy’s family because so often parents use kids as an excuse to not exercise, but they incorporate Indi into their workout. “This [Indi] is a 30-pound kettlebell. What better way to bond with your baby and with your husband and just make fitness fun!” says Massy.
The family demonstrates their lunge move where they pass a giggling Indi back and forth, and alternate isometric and active lunges. Their second move is a squat with an overhead press of Indi as their weight!
Massy then uses Indi’s stroller to demonstrate two more advanced moves. Massy does an ab roll out with a burpee. She then locks the stroller and uses it to balance on while planking. Stefan then does pushups across from Massy, and they alternate clapping their hands together.
Check out the videos to see the moves. Dr. Travis warns viewers to not come out of the gate trying to do the advanced ones. He says to work your way up and to be safe with yourself and your baby. Make sure you perfect the moves first, before using any weight. Lastly, The Doctors want to remind everyone to stretch and cool down at the end of a workout. Massy demonstrates some of those stretches at the end of the show.
