Playing What You Can Make with Your Canned Vegetables

Is your pandemic pantry still filled with canned food? The Doctors share how to use those canned pantry staples to make some surprising dishes -- including black bean brownies!

Talia Pollock, the author of “Party in Your Plants,” says, "Let's not count out cans," noting they are convenient, practical, affordable, and can be stored for long periods of time.

But Talia says to be mindful of the sugar and sodium levels in the canned items you buy, staying away from added sugars and high levels of salt. She suggests getting "single-sourced cans" like canned pumpkin, canned coconut milk, and black beans.

And when you are buying vegetables, she prefers fresh or frozen (especially for green veggies), but is a fan of some canned vegetables like canned beets and canned tomatoes and notes they can make meal prep much easier.

Get Talia's recipe for her Fooled Ya! Black Bean Brownies and Coconut Chocolate Frosting, which had The Doctors going back for a second helping!
