July is National Ice Cream Month and The Doctors are celebrating with a healthy twist on the frozen treat.

It is possible to still enjoy "ice cream" and eat something healthy if you use dairy alternatives and surprising indigents for the base like bananas, avocado, mangos, and even black beans!

We previously featured a creative way to make mint chocolate chip ice cream using coconut milk, avocados, honey, and unsweetened cacao nibs. Get the entire recipes and prep instructions, here!

Another simple recipe we love, which is healthy and you can easily make with your little ones comes from Tasty and only requires 3 ripe bananas, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, and ¾ cup peanut butter.

Everyday Health uses black beans in their Black Bean Fudge Pops recipe, along with semisweet chocolate chips, an avocado, banana, dates. Not only are these healthier than traditional ice cream and filled with protein and fiber, but the blacks beans are also said to pair well with the chocolate.
