Money should not limit you from eating healthy food and The Doctors share how it can be achieved while shopping at discount stores.

Producer Justin -- who spearheaded The Doctors #DropTheSugar challenge -- went to 3 different dollar stores with only $15 dollars to spend and he shares how he was able to make healthy food choices while staying on a strict budget.

Some of the healthy items -- that when combined can make for a nutritious and filling meal -- included:

  • Eggs
  • Tomatoes
  • Avocados
  • Kale
  • Spinach
  • Soybean sprouts
  • Potatoes
  • Mixed veggies
  • Hummus
  • Frozen berries

He says with all the items he bought he was able to prepare 13 meals, plus desserts, snacks, and had leftovers. His budget shopping trip produced:

  • 6 vegetable omelets with a side of breakfast potatoes
  • 4 large super salads
  • 3 loaded baked potatoes 
  • 3 bowls of berries
  • 6 hardboiled eggs and hummus
  • 8 leftover potatoes
