Choking is commonly featured in porn which has affected some young people's sex life. OB/GYN Dr. Nita Landry shares that 13 percent of girls between the ages of 14 and 17 report that they have been choked during sex. 

The Doctors warn that choking can lead to death in some cases and should not be taken lightly. They note someone with low oxygen reserves can die in under a minute if they are being asphyxiated, along with the possibility of fracturing someone's trachea.

The panel feels this sex trend is another important reason why parents need to speak with their kids about sex and educate them about how extreme versions of sex are often portrayed in porn and discuss how this does not mean it needs to occur with actual real-world sex. They also note this is a great opportunity to discuss the importance of consent, especially when it comes to what takes place during sex.
