The Doctors share that sex can have amazing benefits for people who have had a heart attack and that engaging in it could actually save your life!
A study in The American Journal of Medicine found people who were sexually active before and after their heart attack had a lower risk of death. Those having sex prior were 27 percent less likely to die and those who had sex after their heart attack were 37 percent less likely to die.
"If you want to have sex after your heart attack and your doctors clear it, then great," Dermatologist Dr. Sonia Batra says, noting an active sex life usually is an indicator of a more active life, which is always beneficial to one's overall health especially after a heart-related health issue.
The Doctors encourage anyone who has suffered a heart attack to speak their medical care provider about the risks and benefits of engaging in sex following this health scare.
