COVID-19 cases are surging across the country and experts are warning if you have not been vaccinated there are 2 specific locations you should not go to.
If you are unvaccinated, eating or drinking at an indoor locale with people from outside of your household is not advised, according to a CNN medical expert.
“What I would say bluntly is: If you are not vaccinated right now in the United States, you should not go into a bar, you should probably not eat at a restaurant. You are at great risk of becoming infected,” CNN Medical Analyst Dr. Jonathan Reiner warns.
The Doctors stress this warning should be heeded by those who are not able to be vaccinated for medical reasons, children under 12, and those who have elected not to get the vaccine. If you are not vaccinated, a less risky option (but still comes with the risk of infection) is opting to eat at an outdoor restaurant and to make sure you are wearing a mask and distancing yourself from others.
This is particularly important for people who live in Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and Missouri, where CNN reports doctors are seeing more young patients admitted for COVID complications than before. Additionally, Florida and Arkansas are reportedly seeing "high" levels of community transmission in every county across each of the states. This is also the case in nearly every county in Missouri, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
According to The Mayo Clinic, there are currently 30 states with less than half of their population fully vaccinated. If you have not been vaccinated, or have a loved one who has not received the vaccine, The Doctors encourage you to get your shot for the sake of your health and the health of your community.
