The app Sleep Cycle surveyed more than 1000 of its users and 68 percent said sex helped them get more shut-eye.

Clinical psychologist Dr. Judy Ho says there is science behind this idea noting that sex helps to boost neurochemicals like oxytocin and also helps to reduce your stress levels.

“It definitely beats checking your cell phone,” Plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon adds.

Other pre-sleep activities the people surveyed took part in included reading and listening to music.
