- Is there an optimal protein shake when trying to lose weight?
Dr. Ian Smith says to drink one that is low in calories and sugar.
- How much coffee should you be drinking?
Dr. Ian says having multiple cups of coffee will small amounts of cream and sugar is okay, but to avoid drinks like iced blended coffees with syrups and whipped creams and coffee-based drinks that are more like a dessert.
- Will carbonated water affect someone's weight loss efforts?
No, carbonated water that does not contain calories is fine to drink and Dr. Ian notes carbonation will not lead to weight gain.
- Are drinks with artificial sweeteners acceptable?
No, Dr. Ian says to avoid anything with artificial sweeteners or synthetic ingredients.
