Actress, mommy-to-be and best-selling author of The Kind Diet, Alicia Silverstone, joins The Doctors to explain how the diet changed her life.
"About 13 years ago, I had a really life-changing journey that began, and magical results," she says. "I wanted everybody to have that same experience."
Prior to following The Kind Diet, Alicia, now 34, says that she would get sick often, suffered from asthma and cystic acne and received allergy shots twice a week. She adopted a vegan lifestyle and saw an amazing transformation of her entire body. "What happened was so miraculous," she says. "My nails got so strong that you can't bend them at all. And they used to have white marks on them and used to be easy to bend and [were] brittle ... I slimmed down, my eyes started to get really, really white and my cystic acne all went away.
"I dropped the inhaler, I haven't had antibiotics since," she adds. "Everything changed so much."
The Kind Diet is a vegan lifestyle and cookbook that promotes an organic diet free of meat, dairy, white sugar and processed foods. It contains 100 recipes, ranging from appetizers to desserts. Alicia shares some of the simple, healthy, delicious meals from the book!

"It's all clean, plant-based food," Alicia says. "If you think, Oh my gosh, I don't want to eat plant-based food. I can't do that all the time, the great thing about what I've done in this book is I really let you take baby steps. It's all about flirting."
