Do you ever wear your underwear more than once without washing?
According to a recent study, 1 in 5 people wear their underwear at least twice before washing, with 31 percent of men and 10 percent of women revealing they wear their underwear two or more times before washing or switching to a new pair.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon says he has a rule that underwear should be changed after 24 hours and after the presence of any bodily fluids. ER physician Dr. Travis Stork notes that if you are sweating, like during a workout, they should be changed.
Urologist Dr. Aaron Spitz shares that anyone dealing with a fungal or bacterial infection in that area should change their underwear every day. He also explains that underwear, like compression shorts, can be a breeding ground for fungal and bacterial infections.
The Doctors recommend wearing fresh underwear every day and they encourage the wearing of breathable underwear.
