"I'm a nutrition doctor and I've spent the last 17 years really using food as medicine and I specialize in weight loss, but also in disease prevention. And to be honest, I'm not super comfortable putting people on medications all the time for diabetes, high blood pressure, to lose weight," she explains. "We don't do enough on the prevention side."
She shares dishes from her new book "Spice Up, Slim Down," including her "Spice Rubbed Grilled Chicken Dinner," "Spiced Banana Cardamom Morning Muffin," and "Mediterranean Chow Chow."
