Kate Hudson's recent comment about having a C-section is causing some controversy and The Doctors weigh in.
She recently told Cosmopolitan that the laziest thing she ever did was have the procedure, which resulted in some backlash from people online. One person even tweeted, "I used to love Kate Hudson but lost all respect for her. I have had 2 C sections out of necessity... so not lazy, took 2 months to recover."
Surgical breast specialist Dr. Kristi Funk says she believes that the actress only meant that the process of giving birth is drastically different when one has a C-section, compared to a natural birth.
Clinical psychologist Dr. Judy Ho wonders if Kate might have simply been being self-deprecating with her comments, saying, "I know a lot of moms feel bad that they weren't able to do a vaginal delivery, even if it wasn't up to them."
Plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon adds, "Let's give her the benefit of the doubt."
