The lawsuit against a New Jersey financial firm accused the firm's management of multiple incidents of alleged sexual harassment. According to the lawsuit, the firm created a work environment that was sexually aggressive, morally repulsive and lawfully hostile. The suit was settled in just 1 day.

With 1 in 4 women experiencing sexual harassment in the workplace, it's important to know how to handle this type of situation. Areva recommends if you encounter workplace harassment to:
- Speak up - to either your boss/supervisor or a member of the human resources team
- Create a paper trail
- Consult with an attorney
"You have rights. Women often suffer in silence when we don't have to and it's so important to know that we do have rights. Stand up," Areva says.
