Playing Makeup Making You Look Older?

Dyan says she was a tomboy growing up and never learned how to apply makeup. She wears the heavy stage makeup she puts on for dance performances to go out.

“I have this wonderful husband who says, ‘You look like a raccoon,’ and a daughter that says, ‘Yep, Mom, when are you going to learn to wear your makeup?,’” Dyan says.

She’s concerned that the way she has been putting her makeup on is making her look older. She’s seeking help making the transition from too much performance makeup to “just nice, beautiful makeup.”

Celebrity makeup artist Bebe Booth shows Dyan how less can be more, and shares some of her makeup tips for looking younger.

  • Stay current and replace makeup from years past.
  • Use rose and peach tones for cheeks and lips instead of neutrals. Nudes tend to dull older complexions.
  • Use tinted moisturizer instead of foundation to keep older skin dewy and natural.
  • Use natural tone matte eyeshadows instead of shimmer, which can magnify fine lines and wrinkles.
