Beauty expert Kym Douglas says the top three aging complaints are skin discoloration, wrinkles and the loss of moisture. She shares easy remedies you can make in your own kitchen!
Horseradish and Lemon Mask
Apply horseradish root to the skin to bleach discolorations and age spots. Lemon juice sloughs away the top layer of dead skin cells, leaving skin fresh and rejuvenated.
Combine two parts freshly-shredded horseradish to one part lemon juice and white vinegar and mix into a paste. Apply paste to age spots for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
“These are like chemical peels,” plastic surgeon Dr. Drew Ordon says. “These are fruit acid peels with acetic acid in there.”
“Do this for a month and you will definitely see a change,” Kym adds.
Papaya Skin Treatment
Papaya fruit is high in antioxidants that help regenerate collagen. When rubbed on the face, enzymes in the peeled papaya skin help exfoliate dead cells and smooth the appearance of skin.
“Put this around the crow’s feet area, and it fills all of that in,” Kym says. “It helps build the collagen and plump that up a little bit.”
Almond oil is a natural moisturizer rich in vitamin E and is commonly found in treatments designed to lighten dark circles under eyes. Massage under eye area at night and sleep with it on.
“It’s going to help moisturize and thicken that under eye skin so you don’t see the thinness [of the area],” Kym says.

Fountain of Youth Cocktail Recipe
Don’t let the name fool you, there are no lizard parts in Iguana Juice!
Ingredients for one 8-ounce glass:
1 ounce Nopales (cactus chunks)
1 ounce spinach
1 ounce celery
5 ounces pineapple juice
Blend in a juicer, not a blender, to create your Iguana Juice. Serve chilled but without ice.
