The Biggest Loser Excess Skin Removal
Several years ago, Danny Cahill tipped the scales at 430 pounds. He participated on the hit TV show The Biggest Loser, lost 239 pounds and won the eighth season of the show. When he first appeared on The Doctors, he revealed that the secret to his success came down to good, old-fashioned exercise and calorie counting.
People who experience extreme weight loss will often have excess skin that hangs off their body, and Danny was no exception. Plastic surgeon Dr. Drew Ordon demonstrates how the extra skin can be surgically removed and, along with fellow plastic surgeon Dr. Ritu Chopra, performs the procedure on Danny.

"I'm just blown away at the results," Danny says. "I didn't know it was going to look this good!"
Scars are the body's way of repairing skin injuries and stretch marksare linear dermal tears or scars that occur when the skin is subjected to progressive stretching. Despite the fact that scars and stretch marks are normal and healthy skin reactions, they can leave unsightly marks.
Skin tags are benign growths that are commonly found on overweight people and tend to develop in moist areas, such as the armpits, under the breasts and on the neck.
To remove the tags, it is important to seek professional care, rather than trying to do it yourself. "They can have a really good blood supply, so if you snip it off yourself or cut it, they bleed, and you can end up in the emergency room," board certified dermatologist Dr. Glynis Ablon says.
Dr. Ablon removes a skin tag from 33-year-old Karina's neck. "You can do [the procedure] on any size [skin tags]," Dr. Ablon says. "The skin tags don't grow back. What happens is you can develop new ones, but you can do [the procedure] on any skin tag."
