Get Moving with Jillian Michaels

Personal trainer and star of the hit TV show The Biggest Loser Jillian Michaels joins The Doctors to help get you motivated and on the path to better health!

Better your Body Using your Phone
Your cell phone isn't just for making calls, texting and tweeting on the go. It can also be a great addition to your workout. New applications, such as SixPack App, are available for your cell phone and can help you maintain a healthy life.

"You can even download workouts on there and take it with you to the gym," Jillian says. "I use it constantly when I go out to dinner and I want to know how many calories are in something."

"But it can't do crunches for you!" plastic surgeon Dr. Drew Ordon says.

E.R. physician Dr. Travis Stork demonstrates how SixPack App works.

Desperate for a Change
Lonna, 38 and 285 pounds; Dario, 30 and 233 pounds; Madalyne, 13 and 150 pounds; and her mother, Maria, 36 and 182 pounds, are all overweight and in need of a health intervention.

Jillian steps in to help Lonna, Dario, Madalyne and Maria get on the right track to better health. She wastes no time putting the four to work and finds out how they let their bodies go.

Jillian's Action Plan

To help Lonna, Dario, Madalyne and Maria kick-start their weight loss, Jillian gives them -- and you -- an action plan.

Lonna wants to have children, but feels she is too overweight to have a healthy pregnancy. In fact, this can be a problem many women face.

"Fat actually produces estrogen, so it can cause an imbalance in hormones," OB/GYN Dr. Lisa Masterson says. "This can cause you not to ovulate. It can also increase your risk for miscarriage, you can get preeclampsia or hypertension. That sounds scary, but you can correct all of this just by losing weight. You can take back your options. You can take back your life."

Dario sabotages his health with frequent trips to fast-food drive-thrus and regularly orders up to 10 tacos on "Taco Tuesday." That many fast-food tacos equates to, at least, 1,300 calories and 70 grams of fat.

"Over the course of a year -- and you've been at this for three years now -- it is 19 pounds of fat!" Dr. Ordon says. "That's what 'Taco Tuesday' does to you."

"We also know it increases your cholesterol and your risk for cardiovascular disease," Dr. Lisa adds.

Jillian explains that Maria and Madalyne's weight problems are very common among families.

"Like many mothers, you are putting the needs of your family in front of your own," Jillian says. "But your kids are picking up on that. That's why it's so important that you are a healthy role model for [Madalyne], because that is going to stay with her for the rest of her life. The best thing you can do for your kids, and for this little girl right here, is to be as happy and healthy as you can possibly be."
