I can barely believe it! Today is day eight, one full week of Cycle one under my (now looser!) belt. I got on the scale this morning to find I am 10 pounds lighter! Not only that, my waist measurement is 1.5 inches smaller! Wow!! I am so excited and even more committed to sticking with the program.
Have I been hungry? Sure, we all have but the food has been good and the fantastic recipe ideas shared here have helped enormously in adding flavor and variety to the menu plan. I will fess up to one "cheat", I drank red wine on Saturday night but in my defense, it was medicinal. LOL! As with many other folks who are posting, I found myself to be a bit constipated this first week, despite drinking what feels like gallons of water and green tea. One would think the yogurt's probiotic effects would help in this but it wasn't helping and I was feeling rather uncomfortable. I've found red wine generally does the trick and (ahem) keeps things moving as it were. I know Dr. Moreno does allow red wine later in the program, but I felt justified in having some now. It worked by the way. 'Nuff said.
The 10 pound loss is great but I find myself even happier with the 1.5 inch reduction in waist size. I'm most definitely an "apple" shape - make that an extra large Granny Smith apple. LOL. I seem to carry the majority of my weight on my stomach. You know what I mean - I have to lean forward to see my feet and as for tending to - umm- personal grooming issues (wink), well, I have to use the "braille" method for the (euphemistic) bikini line maintenance. Not that I've ever worn a bikini but like a good Girl Scout I like to be prepared.
I can't wait for the day when the belly is flatter and I can look down and actually see ... what color my socks are. LOL, you thought I was going somewhere else with that didn't you? Well that too, it would be nice to see myself without the aid of a mirror. Seriously though, as my belly fat diminishes so do my risks for heart disease and diabetes and that is the true gift I want to give myself and my family.
