Forgot to mention, in honour of the Canucks hockey game my boys begged me to make my world famous bacon four cheese-burger meatloaf - with mashed potatoes. Yikes - that seems almost a bit pornographic to even say that on this site! I could give Paula Dean a run for her money with this recipe. Well, maybe not, I did use extra lean ground sirloin, whole wheat bread crumbs and (little do they know) low fat cheese but it's still real bacon (just can't seem to like turkey bacon). On the bright side, there's no butter in the meatloaf - Paula would have found a way to add some. Better yet, I'm using low sodium Becel in the potatoes! So there Paula!!!
I love my kids and they have both been my champions in my weight loss journey and have never complained about eating so much chicken and fish. They deserve a treat and so there it is, baking away in the oven filling the house with the most delicious, tempting aroma ever. But I will prevail! I have decided today to return to Cycle One for the next 17 days to re-kick start my metabolism and get past this damn plateau. So I'm eating salad with a chicken breast. I may have to go eat downstairs. All by myself. With a clothespin on my nose.
I'm tough though, I've been cooking all along for these guys, making my diet recipes work for me and for them and cooking potatoes or pasta to add to their meals without giving in to temptation and it's worked so far. It might have been easier if I had a daughter in the home - my house is full of testosterone (even my dog is a boy), but to quote Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive!!!! (with some prayers and good vibes from my friends!)
Have a good night everyone. I'll let you know how I make out tomorrow.
Love, Lisa
