I was reading Citygirlbites blog about tempting treats in the office and it got me thinking. Lucky for me I work on my own, so if there are any tempting treats in my office it's my own darn fault. I do have to deal with temptation though, as do all of us. In fact, last night was a hard one for me - my son's hockey team had their wrap up party and it was pot luck so you can imagine - potato salad, lasagna, chips, cheesies, chicken wings, butter chicken with fresh naan bread, samosas, pizza and Dairy Queen ice cream cake. Yikes - it was like someone read my mind and presented me with a smorgasborg of every irresistable food that I have been avoiding even thinking about for the past two and a half months. The hardest thing was every well meaning soul who said, "Oh go ahead, a little bit won't hurt you.".
So ... what did I do? I thought of all of you. I thought about all the support I get here, all the words of advice and encouragement and all of the hard work and dedication it has taken to get me to where I am today and I reached for the veggie plate. I had a little chicken and some salad that I had brought along so that was manageable. I drank a lot of water too, that helped a lot. It wasn't easy, but it was doable.
So thanks guys - without even knowing, you sure helped me last night! Just another way the support here is really making a difference in my life. Have a wonderful day!
Cheers, Lisa

Hi Lisa, WAY TO GO!!!! Wow, tempting to say the least :0 I'm glad you stuck to your guns and did not cave in. That is a wonderful feeling to go somewhere and do as you have last night. hip hip hooray. Thurs, I'm up for the challenge. I have a reception to attend. The ticket says light HORS D OEUVRES, yep. It's @ 7pm. that is too late for me to drink alot of water LOL. I would be up all night. haha. so I will have more water I guess during the day and drink some before I attend. God willing I will do ok. I'll just think of you and visualize all yalls faces and make it happen.
Thanks Lisa for telling your story and helping me out @ the same time. You are the best ♥
Great willpower Lisa, I probably would have caved and had some, and then been pissed at myself the next day, but life is going to be that way, as long as you get back on track the next meal.
Hi Lisa
Just wanted you to know I did not make the reception. ahhh It's ok. My husband teaches a class from 6p-8p there was no way to make it happen. We only have 1 car now it is planning. I did not plan that well at all. LOL So what's been happening with you? Hockey is over can you kinda relax some now??? Keep in touch .. ♥
