I myself do not smoke but I know people who do. Someone I know is currenlty trying acupuncture to help her stop smoking and so far it is working, and another person tried hyponsis which worked for her. Maybe look into something like that, they don't work everyone but it would be worth the try.

Hi Sheilah!  I just quit myself as of Sunday 1/24.  I believe in using multiple tools in trying to change a longtime habit (addiction, actually!) like that.  I am using Zyban (a prescription drug that you take for a week & then quit--supposed to help curb cravings) and also hypnosis.  I listen to recorded hypnosis each night in bed; after my 3rd night, I was almost done with smoking.  I did light one up, but it creeped me out, so I only took a couple of puffs.  That was Sat. night & I was amazed when, 3 hours after dinner, I noticed I hadn't even thought about that cigarette I used to HAVE to have right after dinner.  Then on Sunday, beautiful Sunday, I woke up & just knew I was done.  Interestingly, as I looked into the mirror yesterday, a voice inside my head said to my mirror image, "don't worry, I'll take care of you & protect you."  No, I'm not psycho... but I haven't been very good at loving myself in the past, and for me, smoking was a reflection of that.  I want to love the lady in the mirror and take care of her... otherwise how can she love & care for anyone else?  Ask your angels for help & they'll come running!!!  Wishing you great success & sending love your way...

I made a list of the reasons to quit smoking. #1 was the picture of the humped over skinny bald man on oxygen they show on a tv comercial. Anyway I went to the doctor specifically for quit smoking. We decided that the Product Chantix would work for me. You pick a quit date then start the product 1 week before that date continue smoking but keeping quit date in mind. I quit May 4th going ok  the 3rd day was hard. They offer a getquit web site that is tied in with Mayo Health Clinic-you can even call and talk to a coach. Wish me luck.

I smoked for 37 years and I have tried acupuncture, chantix, patches, gum, hypnosis.                                                     Nothing worked for me until I tried e cigs and it has been one of my greatest success's!

In two days I ordered and recieved my eGo kit from www.cignot.com I read the info in the package and checked out the links to forums I had heard about and then I started using my eGo. In two days I only used 3 regular cigarettes and the rest of the time I was using the kit.   I haven't had another analog {Kool} since then and I haven't even thought about wanting to puff on a stinking, dirty, poisonous cigarette at all.   I'm happy to say I am an ex-smoker now and I will always be one because of these tremendous products.  If you think they may be unsafe I can tell you they certainly are not and they have 1000's of chemicals less than regular smokes.   Please don't believe the hype thats been put out by our uninformed media and the FDA.  Try e cigs you won't regret it!  Here are some links for reading about these         products.   http://www.ecigarettedirect.co.uk/interviews/michael-siegel.html  If you'd like to purchase one here is the product I used to start;  http://www.cignot.com/product_p/kit-ego-all.htm  this kit contains everything you need to get started.  You should also purchase some "e liquid" in whatever flavor your used to smoking.  I advise getting a 10ml bottle with a strength of at least 18mg of nicotine to make sure you don't have any withdrawals, mood swings cramps or pain.  You will quit with e cigs believe it!
