I think that this could be a really great show. I've only seen today's episode, but will be watching more as I think this could be interesting, and the one doctor is HOT ;)
So far everyone is voteing Fantastic this show is going to be around for a long time. Please make sure if you have questions please ask. This is a Great oppurtunity for all of us for honest answers and great oppurtunities.
i just started watching the show. i think it is very informative. i hope it continues. we need doctors like them helping the american people with health question in health care. since half of america cant afford a doctor maybe this will help at least give them insight and guidance.
i love the knowledge of anything when it comes to medical. so i will be one of the big viewers of this program..
Marilyn perfect,Their are so many people with out insurance and no place to turn for answers. And these doctors seem to be willing to answer all. Nice blog. If you like please add me as a friend. Thanks for the post.
Good Morning all!!!! Thanks for all the post. I see we have alot of new Doctors blogging, how nice for them, they are learning how to listen and share. How nice this show is going to make Doctors approacable super. Good luck to all you Doctors Nurses and anyone in the medical field learning or helping.
Ienjoyed the show overall. I think it will be good if it is geared toward family health, especially children. It is missing the perspective of natural health and wellness.
I hope they touch on all aspects of health... Including natural. I am hopeing there will be forums for all of us. But the good thing is this is our playground and anyone can talk to anyone on here about anything. Thanks for the comments.
If the episode I saw today is any indication of future episodes, I think it's horribly biased, doesn't provide any *real* information for people to make truly informed consent and does nothing to promote health in America. I hope it bombs.
I have been reading the forums and blogs and am rather bothered by some of the negative comments. This show is called "The Doctors", so of course the views will be more of those who are hospital-associated physicians. Other types of medicine have their own forums, and if you do not want the viewpoints from a "medical doctor" perspective, then maybe this show is not for you.
I personally feel that many doctors become medical practitioners because they are truly humanitarians. They care about people and their health. All professions have thsoe who try to "beat" the system to make money, but I was married to a physician for 14 years and believe me, if you don't care about people, this is not the profession for you.
As to those who want an unbiased show, perhaps they need to find one (or a website) that does not show a preference for a certain type of medicine. This show, "The Doctors", is probably always going to show the views of the medical profession more closely aligned with hospital care. This is their background!
I agree with the biased view of the show. HOWEVER, if you listen carefully, they DO a really good job of presenting WHY they think the way they do, what the risks are involved with various aspects of a health issue, and the other methods available. I was very impressed witht he first program that I watched--the one on childbirth. It was very well done, at least from a medical professional perspective. Maybe those of you who think it is too biased are wanting the Doctors to share YOUR views, and not present all the pros and cons. Childbirth, as they said, can go really well, or it can go very wrong very fast. It is your choice whether you want to be some place where medical practice is available to MAYBE be able to help in some of those really bad situations, or whether you want to allow nature to take its course. I think there are arguments for both sides, and I think they did a very good presentation of both sides, and all the inbetween methods. I thought it was quite interesting and informative. Be sure to listen between the lines on the show.
If medicine is supposed to be evidence-based (which it IS as far as I know), their assertion that homebirth (for healthy mothers with a skilled midwife in attendance) is dangerous is flat out wrong. Read the British Medical Journal study and see for yourself. I totally agree that the hospital is the right place to have a baby for SOME women. Homebirth was given 30 seconds of consideration/discussion and they didn't even have a homebirth midwife on the panel, so how on earth could the questioning couple make a truly informed decision? Hopefully the couple will do some more reading and make a choice based on research rather than fear.
Also, the OB's assertion that all doctors give women all the time they need to labor and just go along with what women want is a big, fat lie. There are doctors out there that trust birth (and have the knowledge to address REAL problems in labor--not just "it's taking too long" or "your baby is too big" etc.), but they are far and few between these days. OBs are trained as surgeons first and foremost and most have never even seen an unmedicated birth from start to finish. The training system is flawed and needs desperately to be revamped along with our insurance-run "health"care system. The first step is for women to educate themselves about birth and choose a health care provider wisely. When we start demanding better care for ourselves and children, things will change.
I have not been able to see this show because it is not listed on our TV Guide grid. It is supposed to be on Kcal9 in LA California, and I can;t find it any where. Can someone help me???
Thank you so much!! I did find it by just turning on the chanel and watching for it. On our Tv listing it gives Judge Alex at that time slot. Loved the show and can;t wait to see more. Just wish Dr Phil and the Drs had there shows able to watch on line like other shows when you miss them!!!
Oh perfect sweet love.I am so glad you found it. I was really not sure what chanell other than cbs. Yes sometimes I need to go to work early so I dvr and watch when I get home. Once again today was a super show.
Dr. Travis Stork is the sexy one. I may be 61, but still can know a sexy man when I see one. But in all sincerity I think that this is a great show.

I really like all of them when it comes right down to the nitty gritty. But like I said it keeps me young--like feeling young.
So true about nursing homes, but with mine they'll take me in before they do that. My daughter took me in for a long time after the loss of my second husband. True story--in 2 and a half months I had lost 80 lbs. Just didn't think life was worth living back then. Feel so very much different now. They could do an entire show just on me back then. I was a real mess. Actually, the show would have to be on "Pulling the Plug" on your loved one. I had to make that awful decision, and that's something you never get over, but DID put it into prespective. I shout from the rooftops on ADVANCED MEDICAL DIRECTIVES--yes, I have one.
Hey Norey,I think they give give them spray tans or maybe it is a california thing. I so agree they are feeling more comfortable and they seem to act quick when people ask queestions or dis agree with show they are on it fast. Hope that grand baby is wonderful.

The show is wonderful and very helpful. I really liked the battle of the sexes episode. I only have one problem with the episode. That problem is Lisa Bloom. All she did was holler over all the other guests and was rude. I would love to see another battle of the sexes episode but without Lisa Bloom. My wife and I will not watch any shows with Lisa on them. We have also posted messages on the Insider and Dr Phil about her actions. I know we are only 1 couple but I hope you consider our opinion.

Just read some of the comments about doctor bias. My husband is an interventional radiologist so I know his view on things. However, he thinks patients are always looking for the quick "pop a pill" fix and gets so irritated when people demand antibiotics from their internal medicine docs. It would be nice to see more of suggestions from a natural medicine person, like the man who presented the bee sting therapy. Now, many people may not be up for a bee sting but in this economy it would be nice to present therepies that are not invasive and more natural. Thank you and keep up the good work!

I find this responsible reporting. It is just entertainment. And it is a shame for those who have medical problems and want answers similar to what is discussed on the show but it is not mentioned that the topic on the show may be an answer that is new in the US, that doctors do not do. that may give hope to some and then when reality is found, it is too expensive or rare to get the treatment.
