NANAG

I quit hrt after 24 years of being on it.

I only have slight hot flashes at night.......and that is only after hubby gets in bed.  I guess he emits too much heat for me....LOL

I am not on any hormones. I had a lot of tests on my blood but not a hormone test. I thought is was my thryroid for the way I feel. I guess I have just been putting something off I should not of. All I want to do is sleep. Does anyone else feel that way? I am 46 and will be 47 in Dec. I have 2 boys 7 and 9.

Let me know.

Thanks

Lucy

Lucy; You should have your hormone levels checked.Sorry to say you are about that age.I wake up feeling tired and can't wait to get home from work to take a nap. When the weekend rolls around I want to stay in bed all day.I know how you feel.Do you have hot flashes or night sweats?

I have used the (compounded) testosterone cream in the past. Most gynecologists should have a list of local pharmacies that do this or you can just call & ask them if they do it.

I was on many things before I started having the pellets implanted in May 2008. It is wonderful! I feel great, much better than I have felt in many years.  Please read my profile and my experience with the Sottepelle (pellet) Therapy. It lasts 4 months - nothing else to use - no pills, no patches, no creams! I beg anyone who is dealing with menopause & HRT to check out this alternative. I believe you can go to the Sottepelletherapy.com to find doctors in your area. Give it a try. it is so worth it - just ask my husband & friends. :-)

Gina; Thanks I will check out that website.

I checked for you in the state of Utah and it appears at this time there is only one doctor that does it in the state right now and in a place called Moab, Utah. I googled it and it doesn't look very close to Salt Lake City. If you'd like to ask them anything about it this is the doctor's name:

Ray Andrew, MD

255 W. Williams Way

Moab, Utah  84532

PH: 435-259-4466

Sottopelletherapy.com is the main website.

Sottopellelife.com is where you cann find doctors in your area/other states.

The doctors thatt are trained to do this must be trained to do so.

*FYI: I drive 3 hours (each way) to have it done. It's more than worth it to me. There are only 4 doctors in the state of Ohio (where I live) that do it.

Gina, thanks for looking that info up for me.Yes Moab is about 6hrs from my house,so guess I will have to wait on this. But I am still going to check out that website.

pinkers,

I added you as a friend. Check out my experiences with the creams, patches, etc. before I started with the pellets.

You do have to have a doctor prescribe the cream and also certified doctors for the Sottopelle Therapy. Both will first have to do bloodwork to determine your hormpone levels. My insurance did not cover the cream and it doesn't cover the pellets either - see profile.

Doctors in CA that offer the Sottepelle (pellet) Therapy are:

Gino Tutera MD, Rancho Mirage, CA  (760-773-2616) - This is the main guy that started (?) this Sottopelle Therapy and is the one that trains & certifies other doctors. His website is www.sottopelletherapy.com

Sottepelle CA Office, Oceanside, CA  (760-757-1515)

Karen Sun MD, Irvine, CA  (949-768-6780)

Eleanor D. Hynote MD, Napa, CA  (707-255-4172)

Wendy Pomerantz, Napa, CA  (707-224-1000)

For states that have certified physicians: www.sottopellelife.com

Best of luck ~

Hi Yvonne,

I do get hot flashes but I have gotten them for years. I use to think it was because I was hypoglycemic.

I also get to where I feel like I am go to faimt alot. Did you notice when you did go on homones your weight balanced out or did you gain more weight? I here so many stories I don't know what to think?

some walgreens do it. but first call and make sure yours does it - and if they don't ask which is the closest to your home.
