About Me

I wish I HAD a style!  I spent 1987 to early 2006 umpiring.  My wardrobe consists mainly of umpire

uniforms.  Men's pants (heather gray) altered , gender neutral umpire shirts light blue and dark blue,

White t-shirts, long (wicking) leggings- long and short, black steel toe shoes for plate work and black

umpire shoes for base work.  I also have jackets that are pullover (v neck + crew neck) and zip up.

My daughter, Dorothy, has been picking out my clothes because I have no idea what looks good and

what doesn't...I'm baffled.

What do I love about life?  I love spring blue skys, the colors of autumn leaves and people with a

eye.  I love the smell of freshly cut grass and the countless stars on a clear night.  I love good

friends.  I love the fact that I was blessed with a marriage of almost 32 years to with the love of my life.

I bought lunch for my friend, Stacy...we were catching up on our lives..good pizza, salad and a couple of

buckets (good drinks:) make for a good chat time!

Just the facts.

05/16/06  diagnosed with petit-mal epilepsy and now off work

06/06 diagnosed with fibromyalgia

07/04/06 my husband, Ric, died in his chair in the living room during the early morning hours.  Four days

before he would've had his 52nd birthday on 07/08/06 and a week short of our 32nd anniversary on 07/11/06.

03/06 stopped umpiring due to knee injury

Subsequently diagnosed with chronic depression and anxiety.

11/06   Social Security considers me disabled

I don't remember 7/06 through  03/08

I've gained 50 pounds partly due to medication and partly due to physical challenge (pain)

08/08 total knee replacement.  No more umpiring, no activity involving pressure on the ball of my right foot

and consequently my right knee.  My orthopedist says swimming (like I'm going to put THIS BOD in a swim-

suit? NOT)  and bike riding (I haven't been on a bike since I was 10 years old...they have GEARS!...I bought

one and can't figure out how to use the blooming thing) are the activities I can safely participate in without

compromising my knee replacement.

I'm ready to learn to be an adult by myself and be self employed part time.  Can you suggest weight loss and

getting a "style" and...BIG ONE...how do I date again?  I met Ric at 17 and that was that.  What do I do?
