Whooping Cough on the Rise

Whooping cough, or pertussis, is a highly contagious respiratory infection. When an adult has whooping cough, it usually manifests as a cold and lingering cough, but if the whooping cough is transmitted to a baby, it can be deadly. Now, adults, especially new parents and those who will be taking care of children, are being encouraged to get vaccinated against whooping cough.
