Seasickness on Land?
Joy, 36, has been living with a chronic sensation of seasickness for more than seven months. Her symptoms presented suddenly, after a half-hour ski boat outing. She was diagnosed with Mal de Débarquement Syndrome (MdDS), or Disembark­ment Syndrome, a rare disorder that most often develops after an ocean cruise, and sometimes following prolonged air or auto travel. MdDS is characterized by a persistent sensation of motion that is often accompanied by fatigue, imbalance and difficulty concentrating. Neurologist Dr. Yoon-Hee Cha joins The Doctors via video to explain the suspected risk factors for MdDS and how the disorder is treated.
Solving a 13-Year Stuffy Nose
Jerika, 21, has been suffering from constant congestion and persistent post-nasal drip for the past 13 years. She reached out to The Doctors for help determining the cause of her severe sinus symptoms. Ear, nose and throat specialist Dr. Andrew Ordon examined Jerika and discovered she has a deviated septum and inflamed nasal passages, which could be attributed to an allergic reaction. He referred Jerika to allergy specialist Dr. Danica Schulte for testing. Dr. Schulte reveals that Jerika is allergic to a wide array of environmental allergens, and offers treatment options to help alleviate her symptoms.
