I am nearly 60 years old disabled woman who has been morbidly obese all my life, and widowed twice since 2000.  Have been working on loosing weight and taking Byetta Injections and have lost about 108 pounds since March 30, 2007...to God be the Glory!!  I have been told I need to have reconstructive surgery for excess fat that no amount of dieting or exercise will remove and I don't want to face more surgery since I have had about 15 major surgeries in my lifetime.  The Drs. say that the extra fat layer from my belly is cutting off the free and complete flow of urine through the urinary tract and bladder causing me to end up with frequent bladder/UTI infections.  Also, having consistent skin problems under arms and breasts and belly due to the layers of fat and flab left over and thus, I have to use expensive creams daily to keep it from breaking out worse and itching.  I became very upset with a 4 to 5 month plateau of no weight loss at all and now it is slowly starting to come off again.  I walk about 1 1/2 miles a night and ride exercise bike 10 miles about once a week.  Due to disabilities I am very limited to what exercises I can do, which limits me to walking with walker and some time on exercise bike.

Just wondering if anyone else has taken Byetta and lost weight.  It has numbed my taste buds so that things either do not taste right or do not taste like anything at all.  It is very frustrating since it is hard to eat that first meal of the day so I can get in two shots of the Byetta per day.  I am afraid my diabetes will improve so much that I will have to go off the Byetta and that sends me into a tail spin just thinking about it.  I am so afraid of gaining this weight back as I have lost several of me in my life time. 

Well, if you have had experience with the drug Byetta, regardless of what has happened, I would love to read some posts about it and compare notes.
