I have had fibromyalgia for 13yrs, plus the years it took to get a correct diagnosis. I see my rhuemetologist every couple of months, but the pain seems to be getting more and more unbearable. I take neurontin, pristiq, flexeril (to sleep), I also take sulfazine for my osteoarthritis, prevacor for my cholesterol, vitamin B and D, but nothing seems to help anymore. I take Loritab for pain, but even that doesn't seem to be helping much. 2 days ago, I washed all my dogs (I have 6), and gave one a trim. Now I can barely function and am in constant pain. Housework takes a backseat most of the time. I know if I do too much I will suffer for it later, but sometimes, stuff has to get done. My husband is a big help, but he can't do everything. I need some relief. I am struggling to get through each day. I know they say it's not a progressive disease, but I don't believe that and I think anyone with fibro would agree with me. I have been through every antidepressant, sleeping prescriptions, lyrica, but nothing works. My doctor gives me shots for the pain, but they only last a few days, then its back to normal again. I have turned into a total hermit, cause I am too tired to go out most of the time. Where do I go from here? Does anyone have any ideas? I have also tried massage which only makes me hurt worse for days and acupuncture. HELP

I know how you feel... I have said that the fibro seems to get worse as time goes on... I just do what I can when I can. I still have a hard time geting my Family to see what h**l I am living with after 6 years.. I wish you luck....
When you overdo it like you have, take a hot bath before bed with epsom salts. The salts are magnesium and will soak through to your muscles. You will have a better night sleep and feel better the next day. I actually recommend this every night for pain relief and a good night's sleep.
Hope this helps.
I also end up in pain after massage. Have you looked into Physical Therapy? Maybe the therapist can use the skin rolling technique. Which is amazingly helpful. Also, I'm going to be trying biofeedback and very hopeful.
The biggest thing for us is learning to pace ourselves. When we feel that burst of energy, we tend to over exert ourselves.
Take care! Gentle Hugs.
