About Me

 I am a freshman in college and on the gymnastics and waterskiing teams. Gymnastics is my life! I am in softball and BMX. In the summer I <3 to waterski and tube at the lake and on wkends I run 5K's. In the winter i attempt to snowboard, but I fall on my face a lot, so I give up and go sledding.  My favorite thing of this past summer was seran wrapping my gymnastics coaches car, and writing quotes with sidewalk chalk all over their driveway...

Just broke my leg two weeks ago racing BMX at our local track. I broke off the back of my tibia, and am now stuck on crutches for four more weeks!  It is nessasay to mentally prepare to climb two blocks long uphill to my first class every day.

broken bone

I just broke my ankle 2 weeks ago racing BMX. I chipped off the back of my tibia when i crashed. Other than ice, and crutching around without putting pressure on it what else can i do to help it heal faster?

I used to be in gymnastics too.  I was so close to making it to team, but then I got pulled out because of financial reasons with my dad.  I used to train at Charter Oak Gymnastics, some of the girls in the 1994 Olympics trained there.  I haven't been there for so long, so I wouldn't know if any other girls have trained there that have gone to the olympics since.  Thank you for your advice on shin splints! After I iced them they did feel better. Since I've posted my request for help on them, I've talked to my school's athletic trainer. He says that I have weak ankles which is also a cause for my shin splints.  After talking with him I've gotten better shoes and the orthotics called Super Feet.  I've also been stretching my legs/shins a lot more especially after I run. Again, thank you for your advice! ;)
