Heaven Isn't So Far Away

Emily and Dad

Dear Friends,

My dad passed away from Alzehiemers/Prostate Cancer which the cancer spread up into his kidneys as well last week. He passed away on Jan 8, 2010 at 6:05 a.m. in the morning. His funeral was Monday Jan 11, 2010 at 10 a.m. Monday morning. My dad and I meant a lot to each other. He looked out for me, and watched out for me. I've been kind of the blacksheep of the family, but he always made sure I was part of the family.

It's been a hard week. I sure loved him. I am so glad he is out of pain now. Today the end he was on a lot of Morphine. You know I can't say enought about the wonderful people of Hospice. They made the whole process of death so much easier. They supported the family, and really took wonderful care of my dad.

My dad was a great man. He was a school teacher, principal, and was on the city council all through my youth. You know what was even more special was whenever any of us kids were playing sports or had some activity; my mom was right there with my dad.

Anyway I just wanted to share my news of why I haven't been on for awhile. Thanks everyone.

Love

Emily~

Dear, I,m very sorry for you.

(My dad was a great man), Why was, he is a great man.

The important thing is his spirit and his spirit alive.

Most thing he want now is to tell you (please dont cry).

He want all the time to see you happy.

MY SISTER PASSED AWAY WITH BREAST CANCER THAT SPREAD TO HER LIVER.  SHE LASTED 5 YEARS AFTER DIAGNOSIS AND GOING THROUGH ALL THE AWFUL CHEMOTHERAPY.  WHEN SHE WAS IN THE LAST STAGES, THE DOCTORS KEPT HER VERY COMFORTABLE WITH MORPHINE PATCHES AND INJECTIONS.  SHE PASSED WITH ME HOLDING HER HAND AND WHEN I SAW HOW PEACEFUL SHE PASSED I NO LONGER AM AFRAID OF DYING.  MY SYMPATHIES TO YOU FOR LOSING YOUR DAD, WHO SOUNDS LIKE HE WAS A WONDERFUL FATHER AND PERSON.

Thomsoem, I am so sorry for your loss.  It sounds like you two were very close and I know you miss him terribly.  My dad passed away from cancer when I was 12 yrs old and within the past 5 years my stepfather and my mother both passed from cancer as well and all 3 of them suffered horribly.  It does help to know that for them the pain is no more, but it doesn't make the loss hurt any less.  I would never presume to say I know how you feel just because I went through a similiar situation as everyone is different, so I'll just say I do know that it is hard to go through.  You are in my thoughts and in my heart, take care of you, Deb
